Private lessons are one of the best ways to support your child’s individual progress.

At Creekside Intermediate, we believe every student has the potential to grow into an outstanding musician. Private lessons are one of the best ways to support your child’s individual progress.

Benefits of Private Lessons

  • 1-on-1 guidance from highly qualified instructors (many with advanced music degrees)
  • Customized technical exercises and solo literature for each student’s instrument
  • Preparation for Solo & Ensemble contests and other performances
  • Support for struggling students with targeted help
  • Extra challenge for advanced students ready to push their skills further
  • Opportunities that often lead to musical leadership and long-term success

While orchestra class provides excellent instruction, it is designed for the full ensemble. Private lessons allow for one-on-one instruction that addresses your child’s specific needs, challenges, and goals.

Our private instructors are considered “Level 3” instructors, meaning they hold a degree in music. Lessons are $30 per half-hour lesson.

Most private lessons are held at Creekside Intermediate before or after school, although some families may arrange off-campus lessons directly with the teacher.

A good candidate for private lessons is a student who practices regularly but may feel bored or frustrated with their progress in class, a student who plans to make music an important part of their school career, or a student whose parents want to give them an extra advantage in their musical development.

  • Complete the enrollment form.
  • Include a $25 enrollment fee (please make checks out to CCISD MEF or send cash in a sealed envelope).
  • Return both to Mr. Ramsey.

After submitting the enrollment form and fee, Mr. Ramsey will connect you with your child’s private instructor.
